Preface/Background
Preface
This site is intended to be an information center for the descendants of Npliaj Xai, Vam Nchias, and Ntsuab Nus. Since Npliaj Xai is the individual that came from China, he will be noted as generation 00 herein. Any generation noted with 00 coincides with emigrating from China. Substantial information are unclear regarding generations 00 through generation 03. There are limited information for generation 04. Generation 05 onward should contain sufficient information. In due time, this site can help the descendants of Npliaj Xai, Vam Nchias, and Ntsuab Nus (Not sure if Ntsuab Nus is the correct name or not- need verification if possible) to keep track of who is whom.

Background
Information about Vam Nchias' father and grandfather are unknown because during the time when Vam Nchias met Npliaj Xai, Vam Nchias did not know who his ancestors were. During this time, many fled China into Laos and families were scattered all over Laos. This caused families to lose track of one another. This is the case of Vam Nchias and his family. The reason behind Vam Nchias being a part of the Vajtshuavmab family started out as Vam Nchias's father, assumably passed away, wanted for Vam Nchias to do a "nyuj dab" for him. Since Vam Nchias did not know his lineage, he had a problem. The problem was not being able to call enough ancestors to come "sit-in" for the feast. Vam Nchias did not know what to do, so coincidentally, he met Npliaj Xai. Npliaj Xai offered to help Vam Nchias if Vam Nchias is willing. Npliaj Xai offered to call his side to come and "sit-in" to fulfill what is needed (further information on this will be in the Dab Qhuas section). Vam Nchias accepted Npliaj Xai's offer to help, so Npliaj Xai summoned his side. After it was all done and since Vam Nchias does not know his lineage, Vam Nchias decided to be a part of Npliaj Xai's family.

Ntsuab Nus is one of the son of Npliaj Xai's brothers (cousins) who left China and settled in the province of Xieng Khouang. The relationship between Ntsuab Nus and Npliaj Xai was confirmed when Vam Txiab (Ntsuab Nus' son)  was convicted in Xieng Khouang and sent to confinement in Luang Prabang. After the Vam Txiab served his time and was released, he did not know where to go, so he went to the local market and asked to see if anyone knew any Vang clan. Luckily, he asked a Hmong lady vendor if she knew any, and she told him that if he is looking for the Vang clan then for him to come back later because the Vang individual (Txhiaj Ntsaim Vajtshuavmab) that she knew went to see the Laotion authorities and will be back later. Vam Txiab left, and when Txhiaj Ntsaim was done meeting with the Laotion authority, the vendor told Txhiaj Ntsaim about the Hmong individual who is looking for the Vang clan. Txhiaj Ntsaim then met with Vam Txiab, and took him back to their village in Ka Xa (Kas Xav). While at the village, Txhiaj Ntsaim and Vam Txiab talked and realized that both are related. The relationship stemmed from how the "nyuj dab" is done and who (of the ancestors) are called. Apparently, both are done exactly the same and call the same ancestors; Therefore, they are now related. After this newfound relationship was established, the Vam Txiab told Txhiaj Ntsaim that he will return home and bring his family (Nyiaj Kaub, Nkaj Yaj, etc.) back to live with Txhiaj Ntsaim the following year. Vam Txiab left back for home and told his sons, Nyiaj Kaub and Nkaj Yaj, that he found family (ib tug dab tug qhua) in Luang Prabang. Unfortunately before the move was made, Vam Txiab passed away due to black magic (tso dab). On his death bed, Vam Txiab made it clear to Nyiaj Kaub and Nkaj Yaj that they are to move immediately to Kas Xas and live with the family there. After Vam Txiab passed, his families moved to live with the newfound family in Kas Xas in the province of Luang Prabang.
